Happy New Year!
Since I got back to Saint John, I've just been trying to plough through my list of errands (get to the gym, pick up new gloves, dishes, burn a couple of CD's for a friend, clear off drawing table, take down Christmas decorations, dust, etc.). I'm hoping to get a lot done today so I can relax over the weekend. It doesn't really feel as though New Years Eve will be this evening. Where does the time go?
I don 't really have any resolutions for this year. I'm not one for making them. I usually figure "why not start today?" instead of leaving things for the new year. There are a couple of things I'd like to accomplish in 2005 that I can think of. I'd at least like to make a dent in them, at any rate. I'd like to do some more directing for theatre, read more plays (I've already started on that), continue to get in better shape, spend less money, and keep enjoying everything.

Happy Holidays!
I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I had a very relaxing one, as I spent a bit of time with my family in Halifax and caught up with some friends that I don't get to see very often. On Christmas Eve I helped Renny wrap gifts while we watched "Scrooged - the musical". Christmas day was a quiet one at home. Al stopped by to visit in the evening, and since we hadn't seen each other since Christmas 2003, we had a lot of catching up to do. On Boxing Day, I visited with Sue and Jed and Jesse (who is turning into a very cute toddler!) and then I went to see the late matinee of The Aviator with Al. I'd been thinking of heading back to Saint John the next day but we had a blizzard that dumped 30 CM of snow on us with 90 km/hr wind gusts. So I spent the 27th indoors. Then I decided to stick around for one more day, as I helped my folks shovel the driveway, finished my laundry and then hung out with Al that evening. The next morning, I packed up and headed back to Saint John. It was a good vacation. between the socializing and the meals, I did a puzzle with my mom, read Copenhagen by Michael Frayn, Waiting for Godot and Endgame by Samuel Beckett and most of Sahara by Clive Cussler. I also watched a couple of movies with my parents, and I caught Enemy At The Gate on TV one night and really enjoyed that.

Christmas Chores
I've finally managed to finish the last of the gift-wrapping for Christmas. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish the last of the card-writing on time. That's partly because I'm missing a few addresses for folks who live away, and partly because I haven't managed to meet up with some friends to give them their card in person at this super-busy time of year.
I am pleased to say that I have no reason to go anywhere near a store for the next week. This is a good thing, as I can't stand the crowds (I like my personal space very much, thank you). Happy Holidays!

Time for Relaxation
Today is my first day of Christmas Holidays. I don't have to go back to work until January 4th! Yay! I have really been looking forward to this break so I can relax and de-stress. Last night was a great start. I did a bit of gift exchanging with friends and then had a quiet evening of reading and hit the hay very early. Today I've got a few errands to run - and it's wonderful out so it's a good day to not be cooped up in the office (my apologies to those of you who are still working today). Happy Holi days!

Celebrations all around
First off, congrats to Cliff and Shannon, who had thier little baby boy yesterday evening! I heard he's an absolute cutie.
And Happy Birthday to Lisa today!
Today is the first day of winter, and it is also my last day of work before the holidays. I'm off until the new year. I have a lot to do, so my day at the office will fly by.

It was the last weekend before Christmas...
and I avoided the malls completely. It would have been a complete zoo out at McAllister place. I only had a couple of things that I wanted to get done on the weekend, so I decided to try and relax as much as I could. Especially since I'd just made it through a very stressful week at work.
Friday evening I watched some of the behind the scenes stuff from The Lord of the Rings: the Return of The King. It is amazing the pressure they were under to complete that movie and after watching all of the work that they did and all of the stress that they were under, I feel as if I have no right to complain about anything. After all that I had a late supper at Taco Pica with Colin, Cliff and Shannon. Shannon is overdue and should be having her baby either today or tomorrow! They are going to make awesome parents.
Saturday was a fairly lazy day - I got a few errands done, made it to the gym, had a nice long nap, and then headed to the "Swayze Christmas Party" at Lisa and Annthony's. I had a lot to drink - enough that I spent most of Sunday trying to recouperate from my hangover. I did manage to muster the energy mid-afternoon to go see a matinee of National Treasure which was cute - a bit corny and fun. It was action-fluff that I could handle with a hangover. I meant to finish writing Christmas cards, but I didn't get around to completing them so I hope to be able to finish that up at lunch today and get them in the mail this afternoon. Only 5 days until Christmas!

Still Busy
Not much to report here - I am still having a super-busy work week and outside of work I have been struggling to get Chirstmas cards written. I had planned to make ornaments for all of my friends for the holidays but I don't think I'll be able to get to it this year. Sorry guys. Sigh. There just isn't enough time to get everything done that I wanted to get done for the holidays. All I want to do is relax.

A Busy Bee
Last night I stopped in at the "Carol-oake" event at the Somerset. It was nice to see everyone, but I wasn't in the mood to be out, so I didn't stick around very long. I went home to get started on writing christmas cards while checking out my new LOTR:ROTK EE DVD. My week at work is super-busy and it's started to stress me out a bit. Yarr. I'd better get back to things. :-P

W00T!!
I finished Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic last night. It took me 41 hours and I played a female character who was extremely light side.
AND - as I went for coffee this morning, I stopped in at CD Plus and picked up The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Extended Edition DVD Gift Set. Yay!! Man, I can't wait to check it out - now I just need to find the time!!

Back To The Grind
This weekend, as I tried to get rid of my cold, I took refuge in my apartment (for the most part) and played Knights of the Old Republic. I took a break on sunday afternoon to go to Scott's anti-housewarming party, and I got back home with a box of books and videos that I'd claimed from the giant store of things that Scott was trying to clear out. Then I went and grabbed a bite to eat at Swiss Chalet with Jay. It was nice to catch up with him. I had intended to maybe go see a movie or somethign in the evening but due to the cruddy weather, I decided to just stay in and hang with my x-box.

Vacation
I have this week off for vacation. It has been a great pleasure to take a bit of a break and get some things done outside of work. I went to Halifax for a couple of days and got my Christmas shopping done, and helped my folks put up thier Christmas decorations. Now I am back in Saint John, wondering if I have theenergy to make ornaments like I'd planned. Now that my apartment has been decr5ated for the holidays, and my car is ready for winter (winter tires and mats) all I feel like doing is relaxing. Hmmm... perhaps I'll do a bit of reading. I read The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom when I was visiting my folks (while they watched Shrek 2), and while my tires were getting changed, I started Tuesdays With Morrie, also by Mitch Albom. I think I'll go pick it back up now....

Darling Clementines
On my way into the office this morning I picked up a small crate of clementines. I find it interesting that they come from Morocco. I wouldn't have thought of Morocco as an exporter of clementines. They are a tasty Christmas season treat. There are a few things I look forward to eating during the holiday season - such as tortiere (meat pie) and my mom's thumbprint cookies.
Tonight is my work christmas party. The first festive event of this holiday season. I am looking forward to dressing up a bit - it should be a good time. We have teh band "Taxi" playing and I've heard that they are a good party band. This party will also be a good way to kick off my holidays - as I have next week off. I will spend the week making Christmas gifts for friends and family, relaxing and socializing - and I cant wait to get started!

'Tis The Season
Last night I had a quiet night in and gamed. I've been playing "Knights of The Old Republic". I finally got off the first planet and made it through Dantooine, and I'm just about to leave there.
Tonight I am going to try to get started on getting my Christmas decorations up. I have an artificial tree that is a pain to put up, but if I put on a Christmas movie in the background, that should help a bit. Once I have the tree up and the lights on it, then things get fun. I have a ton of ornaments that I enjoy putting up. And I have a very cool Christmas village to put on my mantle.
