I hate to admit it but....
I can pack. I freely admit to being good (& quick) with packing for vacations, etc. but I don't like to advertise that I can pack for moving as well. Last night was super-productive. I headed over to Lisa's to help her pack. We got the kitchen done in 1 hour and 20 minutes, and Jay M and Suzy showed up to help out as well. Lisa sorted as we packed MANY small boxes of books and a few boxes of other things. I think all that Lisa really has left are some of her clothes and a handful of other things around the place.

Long Weekend #1
I took Friday off on vacation and started off my long weekend with Keith making dinner for me, and then going to see Hitman which I found to be quite entertaining.
I spent Friday morning and early afternoon reading. I finished "Spadework" by Timothy Findley. Good book - an easy and interesting read. After that, ran a few errands with Keith (which included getting a new artificail Christmas tree - which I'm very excited about!) and then he came over and played a bit of Assassin's Creed. I popped out to Lisa's for a bit to level up my D&D character and then went home for an early night.
Saturday I slept in (and I rarley sleep in past 9) and then spent the afternoon shopping with Lisa. She found a lovely red dress for her Christmas party. We ran into Colleen while we were out and she suggested stopping over for dinner and a quiet evening. In the end, Lisa and Keith and I headed over to Doug & Colleen's where we had a great time chatting, cooking, eating, and then watching "Manniquin" (which was so hilariously bad).
Sunday I slept in yet again (it must have been all of the shopping that took it out of me!) Then I headed to the gym, after which I started cleaning out a few things while Lisa stopped by to catch up on the end of Season 1 of Heroes. Then we headed to the late matinee of Enchanted which was absolutely adorable!! We had just enough time to stop at my place and get directions to head to Sarah's for our Bionic Book Club meeting. It went well and it was nice to see some of the gals. We're going to take a break through December and get started with a new book in the new year. I like that we're picking favorites!

Back to the Groove
Jay and Lisa and Lisa and I played D&D last night. It was the first time in a long while that we'd played together and I really enjoyed it (despite the asthma attack from nowhere - and I'm not talking about my character). Jay did an awesome job of weaving Lisa F's character into the side-quest that we'd been playing while she was busy with Dracula rehearsals.
Lisa F & I are starting back at the gym after work today. It's been absolute months since I've followed a regular fitness routine and sure, I was super-busy at first, but then I got super lazy about it, and stopped making it a priority. The thing is, I really enjoy it when I do it, and I feel a whole lot better (and my back gets better too). So really, there's no reason not to go now that I actually have a wee-bit-o' free time.

The Week of Dracula et al.
Another week flew by and I didn't get a chance to do a daily update. perhaps this week I'll be able to get back into the routine. For a short and busy work week, it seemed long. My work days flew by and outside of work seemed busy as well. I have been doing a wee bit of re-decorating. It's slow-going as I've twinged my back. I really need to get back to a regular fitness routine to help strengthen my core so I can avoid the back problems. I think it may help that Lisa said she'd come to the gym with me now that Dracula is done with.
Speaking of Dracula, I got to see it on Saturday night and it was very entertaining! Kudos to evedryone involved! They really rocked it!
Sunday was quiet (due to sleeping in after attending the cast party) and a few of us went to see Beowolf, which was pretty good and pretty neat to watch. Lisa popped over for supper before I headed out to co-host Jay R's radio show on CFMH. He dedicated his show to the memory of Micheal Hutchence (the lead singer of INXS who died November 22nd, 1997). The 2 hours flew by and it was really enjoyable. Thanks for asking me to help out Jay!!

Remembrance Day Weekend
I was looking forward to the long weekend. My mom was coming to visit and we'd get to spend the entire weekend hanging out and catching up...
Friday evening I stopped in at Kristi's for a bit and did some fun eye makeup on the gals before I headed over to the bus station to pick up my mom. We wound up having an early night.
Saturday we did some shopping and ran a few errands. I found new curtains for my living room and bedroom and we did a bit of re-decorating and I'm really happy with how it's looking now. It's good to spruce things up a bit now and then. The curtains were quite inexpensive as well. We got them from Wicker Emporium. We also picked up a couple of cushions and nice mirror for my hallway that was on sale for a great price. She treated Keith and I to a tasty meal at Churchills that evening, and we wound up heading back to my place after and chatted until Keith had to head to work.
Sunday morning we met Lisa for brunch at Reggie's and then enjoyed a quiet day in. Things were closed due to Remembrance Day, and it was still pretty chilly and windy out so I didn't mind taking it easy. Mom finished reading "The Kite Runner" and left it behind for me to read. It's on my list - after I finish reading about 10 other books that I have on the go at the moment. That evening we made a modified version of a recipe that she used to make when I was in high school and university. If I remember, I'll post it here. It's essentially fish rollups - sole fillets rolled with rice and cheese (lactose-free in my case) and broccoli (cauliflower this time as that was all I had) and onions. All put in a casserole dish and oh-so-tasty. Not to mention healthy too.
Monday we went out to get a couple more items that I didn't get a chance to pick up on Saturday and then we enjoyed another mellow day. We treated ourselves to pad thai from the Thai Hut and then Keith came by and we watched Ratatouille which was great!
It was nice to have mom visit. I hope she had a great trip!

Sing, Sing a Song
So last week Keith brought over a copy of Karaoke Revolution and Karaoke Revolution: American Idol for the PS2. These games can be played using a karaoke microphone that plugs into the system and the game allows you to sing along to songs while it determines if the pitch of your voice matches what you should be singing and awards points and unlocks things if you do well. I tried it out on the weekend and it's pretty cool, but it's even more fun when you have friends around. Lisa came over the other night and we had a blast trying out some of the multiple player options. Thanks for the loan of the games and microphones, Keith!

Ch-ch-ch-changes
Wow - things have been so crazy both at work and outside of it. Let's see if I can recap what I've been up to...
I've started dating Keith Dickson. That's going rather swimmingly. And I've been spending some time with Lisa F as she is dealing with a sudden breakup of a long-term relationship. Work is going well - it's both busy and exciting.
