Technology Frustrations

For some reason I can't get my 2nd gen iPod nano to show up in iTunes. I suppose I'll have to find a bit of time this evening to trobleshoot this.

UPDATE
Turns out that I was able to reset it without losing any saved data - yay!

The Weekend of the Gurgly Stomach

It's not that I was sick on the weeekend, I just felt a wee bit run down with a slightly upset digestive system. Was a bit odd, really.

Friday night I popped out to the MITI reunion gathering. It was nice to catch up with Melanie, who I've barely had a chance to hang out with this year. After that, I headed over to Churchills with Jay M in the hopes of catching up with some other friends, but we didn't see anyone there we knew. We decided to stick around and grab a bite to eat, and I called Keith and invited him to come out and join us. After that, Keith and I opted for a quiet evening in.

Saturday was a really nice day where Keith and I did a bit of shopping (and found a few treats for ourselves) and ran a few errands. We tried out Scene It: Movie 2nd Edition and then Keith busted out his new PS2 game (based onthe TV show) Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law which was hilarious and terribly entertaining.

Sunday morning I was up bright and early to get some errands done, including what was hopefully the final draft for the set design for Tuesday's With Morrie. Unfortunately Stephen was too sick to make it to the production meeting, so I emailed him a copy of what I'd come up with. I hope he feels better soon. I got some more errands done that afternoon and by 5:00, I had just settled down to start playing Mass Effect on the xbox 360. I didn't get very far before Ann called and asked if I had dinner plans. How could I resist? I rarely get a chance to catch up with Ann. So I picked both her and Keith up and we headed out to Swiss Chalet for a delightful meal. (I'm glad you called, Ann!) After that,I was still dealing with a gurgly stomach so I dropped them off and went home. I played a bit more Mass Effect and then hit the hay at a decent hour.

Huh. I guess after all, it turned out to be a pretty full weekend!

Missing Gaming

It doesn't take much of a break before I start missing playing an RPG. We were supposed to play Star Wars RPG but had to postpone the game. And due to busy schedules, I'm not sure when we'll be able to play D&D or Serenity next.

On the other hand, I easily filled my time up by stopping in to visit Lisa, and then heading home to play more Assassin's Creed. I'm addicted to finding and collecting the flags. I love games where I get to collect and unlock stuff.

Drool: The Force Unleashed

So I don't really read magazines, but every now and then I'll treat myself to a Vanity Fair. The latest issue has an awesome article about the new Star Wars game that is being released in May, "The Force Unleashed." They actually have te article online - you can find it here.

And of course, if you want to check out the trailer and some documentary videos, you can go to the official site.

Recovery Weekend

I finally managed to kick the larynigits - for the most part. I still have a bit of a cough, etc, but I feel a whole lot better with each passing day. Needless to say, it was a quiet weekend. There were Mockingbird auditions and I tried to finish up the set design for Tuesdays with Morrie.

Laryngitis

I'm finally starting to feel a bit better so I'm going to head into work today. I'm thankful that the antibiotics seem to be helping a whole lot. Now if I can just clear it all up, I'll be a happy camper!

Been Sick

Tuesday - I took work home with me. I was definately not feeling well and didn't want to spread anything more around the office. I had a ton to do though, still trying to get an assortment of items completed so that they'd be ready for a company-wide meeting on Wednesday.

Wednesday - I decided to go in to the big company meeting so I piled on the cold medicine and layered up and headed out. It was a good day but it was so long. Needless to say, I went straight to bed after that.

Thursday - I headed into work, determined that I was going to start feeling better. Again, I had a lot to work on. At least the day flew by. That evening was Chinese New Years (Year of the Rat!) and a Serenity RPG session. It was a great dinner and a good game. The odd thing about this cold is that I can still taste everything. I probably shouldn't have gamed, in retrospect, I was not feeling well at all.

Friday - On top of the cold, which seemed to be getting worse, I lost my voice. I lasted about 2 hours at work before I went home sick and went to bed.

Saturday - I needed groceries and wanted to pick up an air purifier. Lisa came along, and then we headed back to my place, met up with Keith, and chilled for a bit. We opted to go to Swiss Chalet for an early dinner (yum!) and then we rented & watched The Nines which was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend seeing this movie! We then watched Blade which I hadn't seen before. I don't know if I'm just tired of vampire stoories or maybe just not a Wesley Snipes fan, as I don't know what all the fuss was about with this film. I actually should have called it a night after The Nines, as I wound up overdoing it and feeling worse.

Sunday - Felt worse. Still haven't much of a voice. It started to dawn on me that I may have a sinus infection. I'll have to try to get in to see my doctor on Monday. I brunched with Stephen and Mare as we discussed some Tuesdays with Morrie stuff, and then we headed to the first production meeting. I'll have to have the set design finalised for next Sunday. After that it was home and to bed for me. I did get a chance to watch Croupier, which Scott M had lent to me. It was pretty good - thanks for the loan, Scott. :-)

Since I last posted...

I've seen Cloverfield. It was okay. I jumped quite a few times. That was before I got nauseous from all of the shakey camera.

Keith brought over Smoking Aces on the weekend, as I'd never seen it. It was pretty entertaining. Glad I didn't go see it in theatres though.

D&D on Sunday was great. Blissfully unaware of Superbowl.

Otherwise I've actually managed to procure a bit of downtime. It's been good.
