Weekend Update

It was overall a pretty quiet weekend. Overall I played some Mass Effect, caught up with a few friends and helped a bit with the SJTC's move out of the loft. Sometimes it's good to just take it easy.

Unscented, please.

I know it wasn't intentional, but I'm guesing the woman that got on to the treadmill next to me had applied perfume earlier that morning. As she started to work up a sweat, the smell became stronger and stronger, and I was able to figure out why my asthma was suddenly bothering me. Sigh.

Do you know how, when you have the flu, anything scented just smells wrong and makes you feel worse? That's pretty much how I feel about perfumes and colognes all the time. Unfortunately, if it was only a yucky smell, I'd be fine. But the fact that it triggers headaches/migraines/asthma is just really annoying. So please, think twice before applying perfume on a day that you plan to go to the gym.

Easter Weekend

Thursday evening, joined a few co-workers for a tasty beverage and some chatting after work, then headed home to grab a bite to eat before going to the Imperial with keith to see "Tuesday's With Morrie". They did a good job with the show - lots of sniffles in the audience by the end of it.

Friday I tidied and packed and then picked up Keith and we headed to Halifax to visit my parents. We had a lovely dinner and my folks gave us some great Easter baskets & treats. We wound up watching "Hitman" before calling it a night.

Saturday after a big breakfast, keith and I headed to the Dartmouth Nubody's for a workout and it was super-busy. After that, we did a bit of shopping and found a few treasures before rushing back to my parents place for another awesome meal. We had a quiet evening in watching "Micheal Clayton" while I did the laundry I brought and also played a bit of the highly addictive PSP game, Patapon.

Sunday was another big breakfast and then Keith and I headed into Halifax to do a bit more shopping but it turned out that everything was closed because it was Easter Sunday. At least we cound a Chapters/Starbucks that was open.... We then headed back to Saint John and had another blissfully quiet evening. I was tuckered after a super-windy drive. We watched "Eastern Promises" which Keith hadn't seen before. I tried to get some extra sleep so I wouldn't be tired for work today.

Identity Theft or Incompetence?

I got an odd message on my phone about the fact that the change that I requested from Sounds Fantastic in Moncton has been added to my phone service. The thing is, I haven't been in Moncton since last year, and I haven't asked for any changes to my phone service in years. I don't understand. I called to phone company to get my account put back to how it originally was, and I have a call in to that Sounds Fantastic outlet. I wish I knew what was going on, and I certainly don't appreciate the unnecessary added stress of wondering what happened.

A long short week

I don't know why it feels like it's a long week, but it does. I'll be glad to have Friday off.

Monday evening I dealt with some set design stress for "Tuesdays' With Morrie", as they had to cut the flat's that I'd designed. At least it'll still be workable, even if it isn't what I had in my head. I'm looking forward to going to opening night tomorrow evening.

Last night, Lisa F & I went to see "The Other Boleyn Girl" which I quite enjoyed. Not as fluffy as I though it'd be, but still entertaining and a nice escape from the every day.

Weekend Update

Friday evening - cleaned a bit, had a late dinner with Keith and watched "Apocolypto" and then headed out to the Blue Olive for a bit to catch up with a few folks (& cheer Kizzy on!)

Saturday - ran errands, picked up a few items for an Easter basket for my folks, and then spent the evening enjoying "Oleanna" at UNBSJ. Kudos to Lisa F and Scott M for a job well done. After that, hung out for a few drinks with Keith and his roommate Ryan and Ryan's girlfriend Rachel and her friend Michelle. Lisa F joined us a little late and when they went to the Rave, I headed home. Sweet, blissfull peace and quiet!

Sunday - was tuckered. Slept in, caught up with the parental units on the phone, caught up with Jay M on the phone (sounds like he had quite the full day at Saturday's gaming convention), had mid-afternoon meal with Lisa F and Keith at Reggies, then spent the evening at D&D - awww yeah!

Le Weekend Update

Friday evening started with a headache and a subsequent nap. After the power-nap, I felt a lot better, so I headed out to catch up with a few friends over drinks. I'm really glad I went - I was able to catch up with Kizzy, who I haven't talked to in ages. (and yes - as usual, it was great to see the rest of you who were out as well!)

I headed home and crawled into my PJs and decided to game for a bit, when Keith called. He was out with his roommate and wanted to know if I'd be up for joining them, so I got dressed and they popped over and we hung out for a bit before going back out for a fancy drink or two.

Saturday was a good day for running errands, although given half a chance, I would have stayed in and played RockBand all day. :-) I then spent the evening out at Jay M's play-testing a Chaos RPG game, which was pretty fun (although a wee bit longer than I'd expected).

Sunday - slept in, headed to a production meeting for Tuesday's With Morrie, called Keith, and we both felt like not doing anything but we managed to talk each other into going to the gym (was happy I went after the fact) and then we treated ourselves to a lvoely dinner at Swiss Chalet. After that, we stopped in at Blockbuster and found some previously-viewed DVD for ourselves. We headed back to my place and opened them up. One of the movies that Keith picked up was Superbad. I hadn't seen it, and didn't think it's be up my alley, but he really wanted to watch it and I was willing to give it a chance. Needless to say, I REALLY did not like it. What a waste of my time. (Although it was nice to just have a quiet evening in with Keith. I am SO picking the movie next time! ;-))

Friday Feast #182

Appetizer
If you could be any current celebrity for one whole week, who would you want to be?
Hmm... maybe Daniel Craig. I wouldn't mind playing an action hero for a bit. Of course I'd probably spend the entire week in front of the mirror....

Soup
On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being highest), how much do you enjoy talking on the phone?
Two. Not terribly fond of chatting on the phone.

Salad
Name a charitable organization to which you have donated (or would like to).
The Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Canadian Cancer Society, IWK

Main Course
What is a food you like so much you could eat it every single day for a month?
Salmon.

Dessert
Have you or anyone in your family had the flu this year?
I have been lucky that I haven't gotten one. I usually get a couple at least. I did, however get a terrible cold with a sinus & throat infection that caused laryngitis.

Yoga & Cats Don't Mix

My co-worker Al lent me a yoga tape to try at home. I was really looking forward to it, as it's the type of yoga that I enjoy - power yoga. But I didn't last more than 5 minutes at it. Grace thought it was the greatest thing and was climbing all over and under me. Just try getting out of downward dog and into a lunge when there's a cat underneath you. She was loving it - circling around and purring away. It's a good thing she's so cute!!

Whacky Weather and Stretching

I think we had something like +7 yesterday, and then today we're dealing with minus temperatures and a big storm with a bit of snow and then a ton of freezing rain followed by rain. Good ol' March. I think I'll continue hibernating, and I am thankful that I don't have to drive anywhere.

Staying in will also give me the opportunity to try out a yoga tape that Al lent to me. I've been taking advantage of the yoga classes that my gym offers as part of my membership, and I've found it to be really beneficial. Al is one of my co-workers who happens to be right into yoga and even teaches it at The Yoga Outlet. The tape that he's lent to me is a version of power yoga and it looks like something I might enjoy. Thanks for the loan, Al!

My Monday Evening

It was nice to have Mare stop by to go over set design and more. I've lent her my notated script from Cabaret so she has a reference for writingher cues. I have no doubt that she'll be fine - she's bright and motivated! :-)

After Mare left, I hopeed back onto the xbox 360 to play a bit more Mass Effect. It's so good! I had to force myself to put it down at midnight.

Rocking It Out, Hardcore

I finally got it. Rock Band for the xbox 360. Needless to say, the bulk of my weekend was spent rocking it out with Keith.
