Quite The Weekend
Friday evening Joanna and I hung out at her place and decided to make a healthy meal and perhaps unwind with a gin & tonic. Well, one gin & tonic turned into many - and we wound up heading out and having a late but very enjoyable evening....
So Saturday, needless to say, was rather quiet as I caught up on some sleep, nursed a bit of a hangover and tried to avoid the rain. I went out to Liz's Mystery Science Theatre party - and enjoyed myself while I was there - but I only lasted through the first film before I had to go home and go to bed. It's a good thing I hit the hay early as I was woken up a number of times through the night - mostly by the water coming in through my bedroom window at the foot of my bed. When there are winds from the south and it rains, that window leaks like crazy. Thankfully we only get southern winds with rain a couple of times a year. Nothing a few towels can't take care of, but the sound of the dripping made it a bit tough to sleep. I did try sleeping on my couch for a bit, but the alarm for the store across the street kept going off. Sigh. Like I said - it's a good thing I went to bed early.
Sunday was a fairly quiet day in while the torrential rains outside continued. I finally managed to work on that logo I had to do. That evening for a break, I brought The Hours over to Joanna's. I'd forgotten how good that was. I love the way the 3 stories intertwine, and I'd forgotten how many good actors are in it.
