Sunny Weather :-)

Friday night was the opening for Dee and Jeff's new business, Sebastian. It was busy and fun, the martinis were fabulous and what appetizers I had were very tasty. Colin and I hung out there until almost 10,at which point we decided to pop over to Churchill's for something a little more substantial: burgers. We ran into Anthony and Micah and caught up with them for a bit before callign it a night. I just didn't have the energy to stay out very long.

Saturday was amazing - it was actually warm uptown! After getting a few things done around my apartment, I washed my car then headed to Rockwood park to get a little sun and try to spend some time learning my lines for my scene study class. That evening was Elizabeth's Shakespeare BBQ, which was really nice. It was a great chance to catch up with a few freinds that I don't get to see that often. I made it home shortly after 9 PM and was asleep within the hour.

Sunday morning I got up bright and early to cheer Colin on at the Rockwood Park triathalon. I picked up Joanna on the way and we headed over and met up with Shannon and Cliff and Felix. Man, was it ever hot. It was uncomfortably hot by 9AM, which unfortunately meant thtat Shannon and Cliff had to leave early and take young Felix home. Joanna and I stuck around to watch Colin finish - he did well, considering the extreme heat - and he beat his record from last year. I think his time was 1:22:15.

I wasn't feeling too swell, so as soon as Colin finished, I headed home to nap. I slept for over 4 hours! I have somehow managed to pick up a summer cold, and I guess I really needed the sleep to combat it. Lots of sleep, lots of liquids and lots of vitamin C should hopefully nip this cold in the bud. I want to be healthy by Thursday.

After my nap I went to see Bewitched. It was cute, like all things written by Nora Ephron. But I have a hard time with Wil Ferrell as a romantic lead. His sense of comedy is a little too over-the-top for my tastes. My other problem with it was the ending - which seemed like it came out of nowhere. It just ended. I recommend renting this movie instead of seeing it in the theatre.

I am glad it's a short work week. That's all the more reason to make sure I'm feeling better by Thursday!
