A Full Weekend

Friday flew by. I pretty much went straight from work to Shakespeare to do makeup. With a half hour of work to go, I got a phone call from my friend Peter from Toronto. He and his friend Marcus had decided to hop on their motorcycles and head to the east coast for the weekend and they needed a place to crash. They were just over half an hour away. I had just enough time toi get home, do a bit of quick tidying and stock up on beer. Thise two are hilarious. Great company. It was a pretty late but entertaining evening. :-)

Saturday morning while the guys slept in, I managed to get a few errands done. When I got back home at lunch, they finally managed to drag themselves out of slumber mode and headed out. I wasn't sure if they were going to stick around or not but I offered up my place again for that night if they needed it. That afternoon I picked up a decent pair of sunglasses for running (with interchangeable lenses no less!) and some new running shorts. Thankfully I managed to get a nap in before Shakespeare that evening. I was pretty wiped from my late night the night before. Sure enough as I was finishing up with Shakespeare, I got a call from Peter and Marcus who were heading back to my place. So Michelle and I headed back to my place for a glass of wine. then Peter and Marcus showed up and we hung out with them for a bit, Then John and Melanie came out and we kept hanging out for a bit before I realized the time and that Michelle and I should be at the cast party. We headed out and I left Peter with my keys and instructinos to call if they went anywhere (so I could possibly meet up with them later). The cast party was good. Allain has a spacious enough place to handle the large cast and crew. I had about a glass and a half of wine and got a chance to catch up with a few folks before I noticed that it was about 2:10 and I should get back to my place to meet up with my houseguests. I got back just in time to see Melanie and John heading home. Sorry I missed you guys - hope you had a good night! At least it wasn't as late a night as the night before.

Sunday was a mellow day. I saw Peter and Marcus off, went for brunch at Reggies with Colin to catch up with him. Then home for a little nap, then called Colin and we went to see The Wedding Crashers. It was a little bit all over the place in terms of quality and humor. Some of it was funny, some of it dragged, and some of it was weird. Also, it was 2 hours long, which I feel is too long for a comedy. I recommend renting it. After the movie I dropped Colin off and headed over to the Nature Park for a run. I decided to run the entire outer trail which is 8 km. I walked for the first 5 minutes and then ran 6 walked 1 and it took me 59:31 to get back to my car. So I got in 51:31 minutes of running total. I actually surprised myself by going so long as I'd been having some pain around my left ankle and knee. I made sure to ice them when I got home, and I think I may even have to make a point of icing them again tonight. That was pretty much the rest of my evening. I read for a bit then hit the hay at 9 and slept right through till 8 this morning. I guess I needed it!
