Wednesday, July 20, 2005 Late-ish night/productive early morning A burger at Churchills after work, then home to read for a bit and get a couple of things done around the house. I stayed up to watch Rock Star: INXS, which was worth it. I only wish it wasn't on so late. Then this morning I dragged my tired ass out of bed to go for an early morning run. I wanted to get it over with while it was still a cool 15ºC out - before it warms up to 28ºC this afternoon. I decided that even though I was feeling lethargic and achey, I'd try to run the 5 mile route for Marathon by the Sea. That's 8 kilometers if you do the math. Colin came along and cheered me on as I ran my 7 and 1's. I finished the course in an hour and managed to pack in 53 minutes of a run at a relaxed pace. I hope that the next time I go out to run I feel a little bit better. I had trouble getting started this morning so for the entire lower cove loop, I felt as though my pace was no faster than walking. Come to think of it, I don't think I really got warmed up until I hit Bayshore Drive. There is a huge difference on my knee between running on ashphalt and running on concrete sidewalks (ouch!). Well I feel great for doing it, although I forsee a lunchtime nap and an ice pack in my near future! In the mean time, I think I'm going to go search for a bit of caffeine....
