Road Run #1
I've been spoiling myself by running at the Nature Park. It's scenic and the trails are nice and soft so they are easy on the joints. Last night I decided it was time to get out for a run on pavement and actually try out the route for the 5-Mile at the Marathon by the Sea. Unfortunately, it also happened to be about 23 degrees and sunny so it was a wee bit warm - especially along the causeway and Bayside drive. Kim came with me and we ran 6 and 1's for as long as we could before takeing more frequent and longer breaks thanks to the heat. We cut things a bit short and cut over to Rothesay avenue before Superstore instead of going around it. By the time we got to Harbour Passage, I think we'd managed to fit in about 40 minutes of running in 55 minutes. Didn't it cool off as soon as we were done - within half an hour of finishing up, the temperature had dropped to a much more manageable 16. Sheesh!
After running, I ran a few errands to pick up the rest of the stuff I needed for Shakespeare makeup, then made supper and relaxed for a bit. I stayed up to watch Rock Star: INXS which was really good.
