Tuesday, December 06, 2005 Tree Decorating So last night I finally got around to putting the lights on my Christmas tree and decorating it. The kittens were mighty curious, and Grace even managed to climb pretty high up before I extracted her from the tree. The bad news is that the kittens seem to enjoy chewing on the lights and wires. I've tried using a citrus-scented spray to keep them away from the tree, but it doesn't seem to be enough of a deterrant. I've only put up about half of my usual ornaments - the chewable and fragile stuff is still safely tucked away in boxes. Thankfully I still have enough ornaments that it doesn't look bare. :-) My tree doesn't necessarily have a theme. I know a few people who do and even a couple who do different themes every year. I wonder if they do that on a rotating basis. I'd imagine you'd need a fair amount of storage space for your Christmas decorations. When I first moved out on my own, I started decorating my tree with a combination of old ornaments that I'd gotten from my parnets and newer cheap ornaments. Over the years I've purchased a few unique ornaments here and there and I've managed to amass a collection of some pretty nifty ones! My parents have also done a great job at finding some pretty neat ones for me as well. Thankfully, most of these newer ornaments aren't the fragile type so I was able to put them up this year.
