Beth's Painting
Last Spring, as Beth moved into her new home, I promised her a painting as a house-warming gift. I wanted to do a painting that meant something to her. Over the summer I'd gotten it started but them I put it aside as I got busy. Then, as Christmas started to creep up on us, I decided that it was a good time to finish it up and give it to her.
She loves Celtic things so I incorporated a Celtic design into the background. It is under a number of layers of red glazes so it doesn't show up very well in the photograph, unfortunately. Come to think of it, none of the photos of it are terribly great. I don't think the ones of the bottom of the painting are even really in focus. That's what I get for not taking the time to set up my tripod.
Along the bottom of the painting is a scene from Dangerous Liaisons, which we were both in last year. This is the scene where Valmont has been stabbed by young Dancenay and Valmont's man-servant Azolan is propping him up. You may recognize Graham Percey as Valmont, Richard Roy as Azolan and Allan Johnson as Dancenay.
