Tuesday, February 14, 2006 The weekend of "Script Happens" ![]() So it was a great & full weekend as we finished the run for Script Happens. I think we had a pretty good turnout, and I was happy with the collection of shows - they were all good scripts and I thought they were handled very well. I know that some of the actors were a bit stressed about the shows on Friday night (the pressure to put on a great show while knowing that there were people in the audience that they wanted to impress). I did try to encourage the cast of Coelacanth to have fun and relax and really communicate with each other. That's one of those things that you can tell someone, but they still have to figure it out for themselves. They struggled a bit at the start but they eventually got into the swing of things and pulled it together really well. I was happy with the pace and energy of our show. After the show on Friday, a large number of us went out to The Blue Olive to cheer Kizzy on as she sang with the band. As usual, she totally rocked! Saturday flew by. I met up with Bruce at the market for a bite to eat before I went out to run errands. I picked up a couple of things (blank cards and a potato) so I could make cards for the cast of Coelacanth. Then I carved a coelacanth in the potato and made a stamp for the cards. I had time for a power nap and a bite to eat before I had to be back at the Museum to do makeup for the shows. Saturday evening's performance was smokin' from each show - all of the actors seemed to be relaxed and having fun and communicating and the entire evening went really well. Kudos to everyone for doing such a fantastic job! We managed to pack everything up and bring it back to the loft and got the cast party going nice and early. It was a mellow cast party - as least from my perspective. I snuck out around 2 AM (thanks again Mare, for the drive home). Sunday morning (at 10 AM) I picked up Joanna and we headed to Joanne's baby shower/PJ party. It was really nice to see her and her baby Jake - who is absolutely beautiful. We had to leave early as I had to get back in town and get changed to I could go to the production meeting for Sight Unseen. I talked to Shane (the director) for a few minutes about costumes - and I'm looking forward to getting started on things. After that, I grabbed a coffee with Chad and then headed out to run a couple of errands. I made sure to get home before the snow got too bad - as it was coming down pretty quickly and blowing about a lot. Once I got home I had a little cat nap (with the kittens sleeping on me and purring loudly - gotta love that) and made some supper. Stephen stopped by for a bit and we went over everything in preparation for the Crucible auditions which are this week. Posted by Dre at 7:47 AM |
