The Jam-Packed Weekend and More

FRIDAY evening was wonderful. After a long week at work, I met up with Colin adn Joanna for a couple of glasses of wine at Churchills. And - as a wonderful surprise, Beth (who wasnt able to make it out) had called the pub and paid for our first round!! What a sweetie - thanks Beth!! :-) We started to feel peckish so we headed over to Joanna's and made home-made pizza (with lactose-free mozzerella-style goats milk cheese). Man - it was awesome!!! I'm already craving it again. It was a very nice evening of tasty wine, tasty food and great company.

SATURDAY afternoon, Joanna offered to come along with me to Frenchy's on the west side so I could find some costume pieces for Sight Unseen. Unfortunately, we got rear-ended on the way over. Thankfully there wasn't much damage to the car (at least from what I could see). I'm bringing it in tomorrow to get it looked at. Since I'm leasing, I have to get any damages repaired. And yes - I got the contact information from the person who rolled into me. Joanna is A-OK, thank goodness. She was leaning forward and just got thrown back into the headrest. I'm currently enjoying a little bit of whiplash - thank goodness for seatbelts though. Joanna said I just cleared the steering wheel. Whew! :-)

Of course I was still in a bit of shock and not feeling too bad Saturday evening, So I headed over to Lisa's for "Girl's Night" and watched Dirty Dancing. I still get embarrassed for Baby in so many parts of that movie - but the classic Swayze balances it out nicely. Afterwards, we checked out Carmen Electra's "Strip-Tease Exercise Video" which was pretty tame but a bit naughty and amusing. And - no - there wasn't any actual stripping except for the removal of a hoodie.

SUNDAY I was feeling a bit more stiff & sore. I knew I'd at least pulled a couple of muscles in my neck. It was a long but very productive day as Stephen and I dealt with all of the callbacks for "The Crucible" and we managed to finish casting the show. Right after that, I headed out to get some kitty litter and while I was out I decided to treat myself to a double leg dinner with fries from Swiss Chalet. I got home, ate the entire meal and got started calling folks regarding the callbacks from that afternoon. In between calls, Kristi managed to get ahold of me to let me know they were doing a surprise b-day dinner for Brenda at Suwanna. So, of course I couldn't resist stopping out. I figured I'd order some food, not eat it and save it for the next day. Ha - silly me - as if I could resist their amazing food. I wound up having another entire meal!! LOL. After dinner, we stopped back at Kristi and Ann's for a bit and I could feel myself starting to get a little more sore again so home I went and watched the rest of the Oscars while lying in bed.

MONDAY I woke up feeling a bit better - and I was optimistic. I knew I'd pulled a couple of muscles and I still had that headache at the base of my head but I wanted to be OK so I could get back into a more regular running regime. Guess I'm maybe not feeling as well as I thought I was. I went home mid-day and took a shower and a hot bath and more Advil Extra-Strength and laid in bed for a bit before coming back into the office. I called my doctor to find out what I should do. She is away this week for March break so her assistant told me that I needed to get to the Hospital to get checked out to make it official. I put it off for a bit but I headed over after supper. Turns out I do have whiplash but it's not that bad. I just need to avoid sitting in an office chair for a few days, and I need to keep listening to my body.

So that bring me to today - where I've stopped into the office for a few while by perscription for pain medication is being filled at Lawton's downstairs. Then I'm heading home to get comfy and get a bit of rest if I can. It's a goregous day out there - enjoy it if you can!!
