Monday Night Movie Night
I picked up a couple of new movies for my home collection last night. Well - at least it started out that way. I got American Psycho and Carlito's Way at Blockbuster for really decent prices. Then, when I popped in to HMV, I came across a collection of 12 movies (an one extra CD) by Oliver Stone for only $50! It contains (if I can remember correctly) the following movies; Salvador, Platoon, Wall Street, Talk Radio, Born on the Fourth of July, The Doors, JFK, Natural Born Killers, Nixon, U Turn, Any Given Sunday, and America Undercover.
When I got home, I settled in to watch a movie called Water that Joanna had lent to me. It was fantastic! It is set in the 1930s during the rise of the independence struggles against British colonial rule, and it follows the plight of a group of widows forced into poverty at a temple in the holy city of Varanasi. Totally worth checking out - it is really well done and is a very moving film.
