Theatre Happenings

Wow! Things have been busy.

Last night we had our tech rehearsal for the TotE one-acts at the NB Museum theatre, but due to a few small technical difficulties, our team was unable to do our tech last night.

So at 7:30, Alex and I headed over to the loft to be part of the reading of Angels in America: Millennium Approaches. Bet and I co-hosted and we were a bit concerned that there would only be four of us for the reading, but at 7:55, a deluge of people came up the stairs, and we wound up having 23 people at the reading. It was great fun! I think everyone who wanted to read got a chance to. Chad pointed out today that he only knew 6 people in the room, which really does show us how many new people had come out last night. I think the one thing that we should start doing for things like this is asking people to fill out a little questionnaire to let us know how they found out about it and if they want updates to future events etc., they could leave us their contact info.

Today over lunch I was happy to be a part of the official launch of the Saint John Theatre Company's Setting The Stage campaign. I was a tour guide to show people what we're planning on doing with the building that we've just purchased on Princess Street. I'm really excited about this building as it'll be a great asset to uptown Saint John. So, for those of you who know where the Lingley building is (next to the Princess Street Laundromat with the green and white tiles) this is the building that we have purchased and will be renovating. It'll be a wonderful change for that block!!

Tonight we've got our full dress (and tech) rehearsal for the one-act plays at the NB Museum's Mary Oland Theatre. We open tomorrow night and run through to Friday night. I can't wait for things to get rolling with these!!
