Yay - A Long Weekend!

We were free to leave work early on Friday so I headed home and made wonderfully productive use of my time: I took a nap! I eventually got up and got going again, and headed over to Jay and Lisa Miller's to hang out. It was Lisa's birthday so I brough along choclate cupcakes and Ben & Jerry's chocolate frozen yogurt. We wound up watching Noises Off - believe it or not I hadn't seen the movie yet. Man, I can't wait to get started on that show!

Saturday I had a good run at the Nature Park with Anthony. Since we're both starting out, we're taking it easy and running 3 & 1's. It was a wonderful day for it and we even encountered some porcuipines! On the way out, we saw one in a tree and another waddling down at the base of the tree. On our way back, I had just said to Anthony "I should keep my eye out for the porcuipines that were in this area." and just as I finished saying this I turned my head to look his way and saw the porcuipine sitting on the fence at my elbow. I let out a yelp, "Oh my God!" and veered away, just as the porcuipine put up it's defensive quills. it was a close call, but very funny!

The rest of the day flew by. I had rehearsal for The Zoo Story at 1 PM and once that was done, I headed to Joanna's for a tasty thai dinner. Unfortunately I ate something that didn't agree with me so I had to leave right after dinner. And of course, it was a quiet night in after that.

Sunday morning I headed to the gym for a full body workout with Lisa and Anthony. We even did some power sets once we got to arms and shoulders. It was a good workout! We then headed out to Suzy's awesome pool party. Boy did I need a lazy day in the sun! I don't think I'd had more than 15 minutes in they sun yet this year. Off to rehearsal again that evening. The guys needed to be off book by then and they were doing a great job. After rehearsal I was ready for bed, so it turned out to be another early night. Of course, I'd just spent an entire day either being active or in the sun, so I'd earned it.

Monday was a stat. holiday so I enjoyed the time off. I had another good run in the Nature Park with Anthony and puttered around my apartment for a bit in the afternoon. Jay and Lisa M invited me out for dinner (who am I to refuse great company and a free meal) and then I had rehearsal again that evening at 7:30. We worked on the second half of the play. The guys were struggling with their lines a bit more but we managed to get through it. I'm excited to see what an audience will think. After rehearsal I did a bit of reading (Noises Off lines) and then called it a night. And yes, I was up in the middle of the night listening to that awesome thunderstorm! My poor kitties, on the other hand, were less than impressed with the storm.

My day calendar has an awesome quote today:
"The secret of getting ahead is getting started." - Sally Berger.
