The Weekend

Friday evening I caught up with Kizzy and Stephen over a beer at Churchills and then wound up spending the rest of my evening watching 5 episodes of Grey's Anatomy (season 2) in a row.

Saturday I had a blissfully lazy morning and then got groceries and then stopped in at Jay M's rehearsal to give him some feedback on the show he's directing. The one acts are coming up this week and I can't wait to see them all!

That evening a bunch of friends went to see Ghost Rider and invited me along, but I just wasn't in the mood for it. I am not a huge fan of Nicholas Cage (although I did like him in The Rock and ConAir) and the idea of flaming skulls just wasn't appealing enough to me. So, I went to see Music & Lyrics by... starring Hugh Grant & Drew Barrymore. I was in the mood for a cute romantic comedy and it delivered. I find that Drew is great with picking and portraying very human characters that have a lot of flaws tht a lot of us can relate to - not just the 'big flaws', but stuff like awkwardness and self-doubt.

Sunday turned out to be pretty busy. I had a great workout at the gym and then headed home to get a few things done. The afternoon flew by and the next thign I knew, it was time to head over to Lisa & Anthony's to roll my TMNT RPG (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Role Playing Game) characters. Now, I am not at all familiar with the TMNT's, never having seen their films, or realizing that there was a cartoon or comic books, but when John presented the idea of the RPG, it sounded like too much fun to pass up! It's set in the future, when a lot of animals have mutated and become part-human. You have to roll for your character and we made a North American character and an Australian character. For North America, I'm a feral cat that's around 5'6" and 136 lbs. I am very strong and have human hands, legs and speech but I look like a cat. I walk upright and can use a revolver. My greatest strength is attacking with claws. Also I do not trust other humans or animals, and I am an anarchist. In Australia, I'm a3'4" 37 lb mouse that is a car nut/auto mechanic. I have full human hands, legs and speech, but I still look like a mouse. I have psyonic powers and can paralyze an opponent with my mind. I'm skilled with all aspects of mechanics (including robotics) and different types of communication. I also excel at acrobatics, gymnastics and hand-to hand martial arts combat. This character is more easy-going and self-confident due to the fact that I know my skills are in high demand. I still have to name both characters. UPDATE: The cat is Savanna and the mouse is Maxine.
